Outsourced Finance Department

1

Overview

Your one stop finance solution. Most growing businesses need more than a year-end accountant but are not ready to hire a full-time finance team. We become your finance department: keeping the books up to date, reporting on how the business is really doing, and sitting down with you regularly to plan what comes next.

Priced to fit what you need. We will agree a fixed monthly fee once we understand your business.

2

Who it is for

• Growing small and medium-sized businesses without an in-house finance team

• Owners spending too much of their own time on the books

• Businesses preparing for investment, a loan or a big decision

• Companies whose year-end accounts arrive too late to be useful

3

What is included

Every package is built around your business. It can include:

• Bookkeeping, kept up to date throughout the year

• Management reports, monthly or quarterly, showing profit, cash and how you are tracking against plan

• Regular review meetings to go through the numbers with you, as often as your reports

• Budgets and cash flow forecasts

• VAT returns under Making Tax Digital

• Financial controls to help you spot problems early

• Board papers and attendance at board meetings where needed

• Year-end accounts and corporation tax, already prepared from up-to-date books

4

Works with your software

We work with whatever accounting software suits your business. If you already use one, we will work in it. If you do not, we will recommend the right one for your needs and set it up for you.

5

Monthly or quarterly: you choose

Monthly: management reports and review meetings every month. Best for fast-growing businesses or tight cash flow.

Quarterly: management reports and review meetings every quarter. Best for stable businesses wanting regular oversight.

Common questions

What is the difference between an accountant and a virtual finance director?

An accountant makes sure your accounts and tax returns are right. A virtual finance director also helps you run the business: understanding which parts make money, planning cash flow, and preparing for big decisions. We do both.

Do I have to commit long term?

No. Our fee is paid monthly and you can leave with one month's notice. Full terms are set out in our engagement letter.

Can we start with bookkeeping and add more later?

Yes. Many clients start with bookkeeping and quarterly reports, then add more as the business grows.
